Day 34: February 3
Tonight, one of my friends (and also my RA and sister) came to hang out in my room and make her mug for SAE’s initiation formal. As you can see, she couldn’t quite figure out how to spell “initiation”…
Day 28: January 28
Tonight was bubble party at my favorite fraternity! The guys basically get a huge visqueen tarp and put it over their entire courtyard and then put a bunch of fans along the outside of it to keep it blown up like a huge balloon/bubble. Then people party inside of it. This one was especially awesome. I don’t remember much from it, but I do distinctly remember dancing with the student body president to “Single Ladies” and he could do it better than any of the girls around him could. The things you learn about people when you’re drinking together.
Day 27: January 27
Today some of my Tri Delta sisters and I went to answer phones at a local radiothon for St. Jude, our national philanthropy. It was pretty calm, not too crazy until the end of our shift. Probably the best part of the day was just talking to the girls. I got to know a freshman much better than before, which I really appreciated because I discovered that I really like her a lot. It sounds cheesy, but she’s sort of like the perfect Tri Delt.
Day 26: January 26
Tonight my best friend and I went to a couple of older girls’ house for dinner. They made us taco soup, which was the bomb, and bought us beer. I love hanging out with older girls because it never fails that they have awesome stories to tell about people that we know but are too young to have any stories about. I guess it’s just how we bond.
Day 25: January 25
Tonight I had a lot of meetings to attend. 3 back-to-back, actually. The major difference between this year and last year is that this year I’m getting much more involved with stuff on campus. It’s not just school and Tri Delta anymore, it’s about doing other things in order to make myself more present at Millsaps. As of right now, it’s not killing me, but as soon as it does I’ll let you know!
Day 23: January 23
I tutor pretty often to get some extra cash for school. This is one of the girls I help. Her family is basically like family friends of mine since I’ve been babysitting for them for so long and her dad used to work with mine. It’s a really easy gig - $25 for one hour of my time. Plus, she’s smart, so she doesn’t need too much help to begin with.
Day 22: January 22
HUNGOVER. When Alden and I wake up from a rough night, it never fails, we ALWAYS get McDonald’s. It’s like a reaction or something. No thought process required. Today was definitely one of those days. I spent the better portion of the day in bed, and then later got up to do a little cleaning, because what else is there to do on Sundays but clean?
Day 21: January 21
Tonight I grabbed sushi and rice with my roommate/best friend. Of course we were still battling a slight hangover and trying to get prepared to go back out that night so we needed the most carb-loaded meal we could find. The place we usually go to is Tokyo Express - really cheap sushi and good fried rice. Only problem is that I usually end up spending about $15 there every time I go.
